Valentine's Day

by Zoi Apostolidi
February 14th. The day people give something special to that "someone" who plays a really important role in their lives. The day people confess their undying love, the storge and the compassion they feel for someone else. Tradition has it that at Valentine's day gifts are offered to loved-ones in order to make sure their other halves know  their heart belongs to them. Cards, red roses, teddy bears and chocolates make their appearance. That day, little Cupid, the flying angel son of Aphrodite, flies among us and throws his arrows into our hearts.
Lovers hold hands, go for long walks, watch the sunset, exchanger sweet words and generally do romantic stuff.

However, for those who were not struck by Cupid's arrows, no worries. I beleive people who are truly inlove don't really wait till Valentine's Day to express their eternal love. They celebrate every day. As for Mr Cupid, he will eventually knock on your door.(well,if you want him to). So be patient. Besides, there's a special somenone for everyone out there. One way or another, someday he will be found. Okay, I know it's annoying to see around everyone being madly in love and celebrate Valentine's Day while you are alone. Maybe this day was invented so that flower shops and other shops sell their stuff.

So, for everyone in love, have fun on your special day! And fot the single ones, do something creative to enjoy the day ;)
